With employment security at a new low, it makes sense to investigate starting a small business as an alternate income source. Free and low-cost resources like SCORE and the SBA can help you get started. However, ultimately, YOU are responsible for creating a business that can grow and succeed.

The problem is that most women are overwhelmed already. They have children, significant others and perhaps a full time job on top of the full time job they have at home. Most women start out as solo-preneurs, going from total overwhelm to totally overwhelmed. Business coaches and consultants can help. But often what happens is that the “to do” list only gets longer.

The Wise Woman Shining team can provide a menu of solutions for your business start-up. And, we can manage that process for you.

We have compiled a list of things that a new business owner needs to do to develop a firm foundation for their business. You know, of course, that over half of new businesses fail within the first four years. Research has proven that businesses that start with a firm foundation of planning, structure and adequate cash flow are the ones that succeed.

That’s why we believe in looking at things holistically, just like you, the small business owner, must do. We partner with you to build the business you want, in the shortest amount of time with the most effective cost basis.

How Does It Work?

We set up a complimentary meeting (either in person or by phone, depending on your location). During that hour-long meeting, we discuss:

Your vision for your business
Your goals for the short term
The financial investment you want to make initially
The time frame to get your business up and running
Who is on your team already
Which of our pre-packaged services you want to use

(The value of this meeting is $395 and is only available to people starting a business, not those already in business.)

From the basis of that meeting, we draw up a proposal to get the work done, including managing the project to make sure that it is done on time and within budget.

Then we make it happen!

We have some specific business management skills in-house, and we have partnered with some of the best business support companies in the Silicon Valley area to bring you the services you need to build your business.

Here are the pre-packaged services available to you.

Business Plan Creation

We do the interviews and the writing. We help you with sales and budget projections, marketing plan and the all important Executive Summary. More importantly, we teach you how to make your business plan a living document that works for you.

We can 125x125 also work with you on certain segments of your business plan, such as a marketing plan, operations plan or sales and budget projections.

Creation of an organized office space and systems to maximize your business’s efficiency and productivity to benefit your bottom line. Package includes:

Pre-meeting questionnaire to determine your level of organization.
On-site assessment to determine the best office set-up for maximizing storage space.
Analysis of your computer and physical files to determine the most efficient way of filing and locating information.
Assistance with set-up of a paper management system.
Creation of an “Action Plan” for implementing good organization practices into your business.

Set Up for Employee Management

Basic Package includes all required state and federal forms, brochures and postings, as well as set up of employee files so they are compliant with state and federal laws. Quick Start Package also includes HR Policies/Employee Handbook, job descriptions. Staffing process is set up, including support on recruiting and interviewing.
